TOWN OF HARRISON PLANNING BOARD
The Harrison Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing to discuss proposed amendments to the Town of Harrison Building Permit Ordinance and State mandated amendments to the Shoreland Zoning Ordinance. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 7 at 7:00 p.m. at the Harrison Town Office. Copies of the amendments are available at the Town Office.
All interested individuals are encouraged to attend.
Transfer station stickers are available at the Town Office. Please bring your license plate number, which is required now. These stickers are valid for two years and will expire on December 31, 2008.
If you are the owner/keeper of a dog over six (6) months of age, the State of Maine requires the dog to be licensed. This is the only way to control the spread of rabies, a deadly disease with no known cure. 90% of the dog license fee goes directly to fighting animal cruelty in Maine. All dog licenses expired December 31st.
Dog License costs: neutered or spayed $6.00 per dog with current certificate; all others will be $11.00 per dog. (If you are not sure about current rabies vaccinations the town clerks will be happy to help you). Late charge is now $15.00 per dog. On March 21, the list of unlicensed dogs will be given to the dog officer and at this point the late fee becomes $25.00 per dog.
